Permutation and Exhaustion: Franco Evangelisti’s Compositional Output – In 2013, Christine Anderson published an in-depth study on Franco Evanglisti’s life and work in which the composer’s estate was systematically examined for the first time. Starting from the results of Anderson’s analysis, the present article shows that Evangelisti’s compositional œuvre rests on a comparatively small number of technical preconditions whose potential for development was exhausted in his published works. In contrast to Anderson, the author interprets Evangelisti’s work with Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza not as a continuation of his compositional work, but rather an aesthetic rupture.
