Zusammenfassung:

Es wird ein spezifisches gruppenpsychotherapeutisches Behandlungsangebot für zehn kriegstraumatisierte Frauen aus dem Nordirak beschrieben, die im Rahmen eines Sonderkontingents nach Deutschland kamen. Dieses Angebot war eingebettet in sozialpädagogische und somatische Versorgungsstrukturen. Dem Einbezug von Kultur- und Sprachmittlern kam ebenso wie dem kultursensiblen Arbeiten kontinuierlich eine hohe Bedeutung zu. Die inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte des psychotherapeutischen Gruppenangebots lagen in der Psychoedukation, der Verbesserung der Emotionsregulation und des Selbstwirksamkeitserlebens sowie der Ressourcenaktivierung unter Einbezug der Entwicklung einer weitergehenden Perspektive in Deutschland. Es galt stets, eine angemessene Balance aus der Anerkennung des Leids und dem Schaffen von Raum für Ressourcenarbeit herzustellen. Bei einem insgesamt positiven Verlauf des Gruppenangebots sind die fortbestehenden hohen Belastungen der Frauen sowie die besonderen Herausforderungen für die Behandelnden im Blick zu behalten. Aus Sicht der Behandelnden sind Supervision und kollegialer Austausch unerlässlich für eine auch auf die eigenen Ressourcen bedachte Tätigkeit.

Psychotherapeutic Care for Northern Iraqi Women with War Traumas – An example of a specialized group setting. Challenges and prospects for victims and therapists
The article describes a specific group-psychotherapeutic treatment scheme offered to ten war-traumatized women from northern Iraq arriving in Germany as part of a special contingent. The treatment was embedded in socio-pedagogical and somatic care structures. Great importance was attached at all times to the inclusion of experts on both languages and cultures involved and to a culture-sensitive approach. With a view to developing an ongoing perspective for staying in Germany, the main focus of the treatment scheme was on psycho-education, improvement of emotional regulation/subjective experience of self-efficacy, and resource-activation. A major concern at all times was to create and maintain an appropriate balance between recognition of the sufferings these women had been through and the creation of scope for resource work. However positive the scheme may turn out to be overall, close attention should be paid to the immense ongoing strain these women are laboring under and the special challenges confronting the therapists. For the therapists, supervision and exchanges with colleagues are an indispensable support in an activity for which they need to be able to fall back on their own resources.
