Zusammenfassung:

Die quantitative und qualitative Auswertung der über 1100 Beratungsdaten, die im Rahmen des niederschwelligen Beratungsangebots des Ethikvereins e. V. erhoben worden sind, zeigen verschiedene Formen von Grenzverletzungen in der psychotherapeutischen Versorgung. Die Daten beleuchten ein Dunkelfeld von Abstinenzverletzungen, sexuellem und sozialem Machtmissbrauch, das durch andere Beschwerdewege nicht erfasst werden kann. Dabei stellen komplex traumatisierte PatientInnen eine besondere Risikogruppe dar, während die Untersuchung der Risikovariablen auf Seite der PsychotherapeutInnen zwei Muster erkennen lassen. Die mehrdimensionale Betrachtung der Risiken für Grenzverletzungen bedarf weiterer wissenschaftlicher Untersuchung.

Empathic Failure and Boundary Violation in Psychotherapy for Patients with Complex Traumas – Report on an investigation by the Ethikverein e. V.
The quantitative and qualitative evaluation of data on over 1100 instances of counselling collected in the framework of the low-threshold counselling offerings of the Ethikverein e. V. indicates various types of boundary violation encountered in psychotherapeutic care. The data cast light on an ill-defined sector fraught with abstinence violations and the abuse of social and sexual power, a sector that abused patients otherwise find notoriously difficult to complain about. It transpires that (a) patients with complex traumas are particularly susceptible to risk and (b) two main patterns are discernible on the therapists’ side. The risks involved in boundary violation call for further multi-dimensional investigation.
