Summary The author explains theoretically her concept of aim and purpose in child analysis and illustrates the clinical aspect by refering to a case study of a seven year old boy. What is meant, is the creation of a mental functioning of the ego, that Freud refers to as «Kulturarbeit». It is the creation of a «never ending story» in the child's mind, in which the encounter with the psychoanalyst has left its traces.

Résumé A partir du travail clinique au cours du traitement psychanalytique d'un garçon de 7 ans, l'auteur essaie d'illustrer et de théoriser sa conception de la finalité des traitements d'enfants: il s'agit de créer la capacité d'un travail psychique du Moi, appelé d'après S. Freud «Kulturarbeit» («travail de culture»); il s'agit de créer dans la psyché de l'enfant une «histoire sans fin» dans laquelle la rencontre avec le psychanalyste a laissé des traces.
