Die Schwierigkeit, häufig nur subtil wahrgenommene Besonderheiten in der Beziehung deutsche/r Analytiker/in und türkische/r Analysand/in psychoanalytisch zu beschreiben, scheint sich aus der kulturellen Einbettung der psychoanalytischen Theoriebildung in der jüdisch-christlichen Tradition zu erklären. In der psychotherapeutischen Behandlung der zweiten Migrantengeneration muß nicht nur die Problematik der kulturellen Identität zwischen Herkunftskultur und umgebender Kultur beachtet, sondern auch Verständnis für transgenerationell wirksame Konflikte der Elterngeneration zwischen islamischer Tradition und westlicher Moderne aufgebracht werden. Anhand dreier Fallvignetten wird die Bedeutung der Wechselwirkungen von historischer Entwicklung, sozioökonomischen Bedingungen, sozialer Organisation, normativen Werten und der Persönlichkeitsentwicklung der in der Migration aufwachsenden Generation herausgearbeitet. Die psychoanalytische Theorie mit ihrem anderen kulturellen Hintergrund wird dabei nicht als unzureichend, sondern als notwendige »Achse« angesehen, an der sich die kulturellen Unterschiede beschreiben lassen.

»Somehow different« – Difficulties in German-Turkish psychoanalysis
The difficulty encountered in providing a psychoanalytic description of subtle differences identified in the relationship between German analysts and their Turkish clients appears to derive from the way psychoanalytic theory formation is rooted in the Jewish-Christian tradition. Psychoanalytic treatment for the second generation of immigrants requires not only an awareness of the problems of cultural identity arising from the tensions between source culture and ambient culture. Equal consideration needs to be given to transgenerational conflicts affecting a parent generation caught up between Islam traditions and modern western society. The author draws upon three case vignettes to illustrate the significance of the interplay between historical evolution, socio-economic conditions, social organization, normative values, and the development of the personality in a generation growing up as immigrants. Psychoanalytic theory is not regarded here as inadequate owing to its different cultural background but as a necessary »axis« along which cultural differences can be described.

»En quelque sorte différent« – sur les difficultés rencontrées dans les psychanalyses turco-allemandes
La difficulté de décrire les particularités, souvent seulement perçues de manière subtile, de la relation entre un analyste allemand/une analyste allemande et un analysant turc/une analysante turque semble s’expliquer par l’intégration culturelle de la formation de la théorie psychanalytique dans la tradition judéo-chrétienne. Dans la thérapie psychothérapeutique de la deuxième génération des migrants, il faut non seulement tenir compte de la problématique de l’identité culturelle entre la culture d’origine et la culture environnante, mais il faut aussi avoir de la compréhension pour les conflits transgénérationnels dans la génération des parents entre la tradition islamique et la modernité occidentale. A l’aide de trois présentations de cas, l’auteur montre l’importance des interactions entre le développement historique, les conditions socio-économiques, l’organisation sociale, les valeurs normatives et le développement de la personnalité de la génération qui grandit dans la migration. La théorie psychanalytique n’y est pas considérée comme insuffisante du fait de son arrière-plan culturel différent, mais comme un »axe« nécessaire permettant de décrire les différences culturelles.

Den vielschichtigen Auseinandersetzungen und Konflikten zwischen derwestlichen und der islamischenWelt liegt aus Sicht derAutorin eine grundsätzliche Divergenz zugrunde. Diese ergibt sich einerseits aus dem absolutistischen Anspruch der islamischen Theologie und der Idealisierung vonVergangenheit undTradition mit dem Ziel derUnveränderbarkeit sowie andererseits aus dem stetigen Fortschritts- und Veränderungsbestreben der westlichen Welt. Die Autorin versucht die Wechselwirkung zwischen den autoritär-patriarchalischen Grundsätzen in der islamischenTradition und der Familienstruktur anhand derVater-Sohn-Beziehung nachzuzeichnen. Im Gegensatz zur auf Individualität ausgerichteten Struktur westlicherGesellschaften, in denenAmbivalenz und die individuationsfördernde Funktion der Adoleszenz eine zentrale Rolle spielen, zielt die islamischeWelt auf eine Gruppenidentität und bietet keinen Raum für Ambivalenz und Adoleszenz. Der Zusammenprall der unterschiedlichen Wertesysteme in der globalisiertenWelt bedeutet für die islamische Welt eine Bedrohung ihrer patriarchalischen Werte und geht für den islamischen Mann mit einer Angst vor dem Verlust seiner männlichen Identität einher.

Power and powerlessness. Religious tradition and the socialization of male moslems
In the author’s view, the multi-faceted disputes and conflicts between the Islamic and the western world are rooted in a fundamental divergence.With its idealization of tradition and the past, absolutist Islamic theology aims at a state of immutability, while the western world harnesses all its efforts to achieving progress and change. The author examines father-son relationships in an attempt to trace the mutual effects between family structure and the authoritarian, patriarchal principles underlying the Islamic tradition. Whereas the structure of western societies is geared to individuality, with ambivalence and the function of adolescence in the process of individuation playing a crucial role, the Islamic world makes group identity its primary aim and allows no scope whatever for ambivalence and adolescence. The collision of these very different value systems in the globalized world represents a threat to the patriarchal values of Islamic societies. Accordingly, Islamicmen are likely to fear the loss of their male identity.

Puissance et impuissance. Tradition religieuse et la socialisation de l’homme musulman
Du point de vue de l’auteure, c’est une divergence fondamentale qui est à l’origine des querelles et des conflits entre le monde occidental et le monde oriental. Elle résulte, d’un côté, de la prétention absolutiste de la théologie islamique et de l’idéalisation du passé et de la tradition ayant comme but de rendre les choses immuables, et, de l’autre, l’aspiration permanente au progrès et au changement du monde occidental. Al’aide de la relation père-fils, l’auteure essaie de retracer l’interaction entre les principes autoritaires-patriarcaux de la tradition islamique et la structure familiale.Contrairement à la structure des sociétés occidentales, orientée sur l’individualité, où l’ambivalence et la fonction de l’adolescence encourageant l’individuation, jouent un ôle central, lemonde islamique vise une identit´e de groupe et n’offre pas d’espace pour l’ambivalence et l’adolescence. Le choc des diff´erents systèmes de valeurs dans le monde globalisé signifie une menace de ses valeurs patriarcales pour le monde islamique et s’accompagne chez l’homme islamique de la peur de perdre son identité masculine.

Diese Arbeit untersucht die innere Dynamik im Konzept der Sexualität im Islam. Im ersten Teil wird das Konzept der Sexualität in seiner charakteristischen Verbindung zwischen dem Sexuellen und dem Sakralen dargestellt. Der zweite Teil geht in einem Exkurs in die islamische Mythologie der Frage nach, wie diese Verbindung auf die Subjektwerdung einwirkt. Im dritten Teil wird die psychoanalytische These aufgestellt, daß eine Idealisierung des sexuellen Triebes den unbewußten Kern dieses Konzeptes ausmacht.

The idealization of the sex drive in Islam
The article investigates the dynamic inherent in the concept of sexuality in Islam. Part one discusses the concept of sexuality and its characteristic links between the sexual and the sacral. Part two examines Islamic mythology with a view to establishing how these links affect the development of the subject. In part three the author advances the psychoanalytic thesis that an idealization of the sex drive constitutes the unconscious core of this concept.

L’idéalisation de la pulsion sexuelle dans l’Islam
L’article analyse la dynamique intérieure au concept de sexualité dans l’Islam. Dans la première partie, le concept de sexualité est présenté en mettant en relief ce qui le caractérise, à savoir le lien entre le sexuel et le sacré. La deuxième partie, dans une digression sur la mythologie islamique, traite la question de savoir quel effet ce lien a pour la subjectivation. Dans la troisième partie, l’auteur soutient la thèse qu’une idéalisation de la pulsion sexuelle constitue le cœur inconscient de ce concept.
