Das Sexuelle in der analytischen Paarbeziehung wird zunächst im Kontext einer Reihe zusammengehörig-widersprüchlicher Merkmale der analytischen Situation erörtert. Im nächsten Schritt werden die scheinbar so konstanten Eigenschaften des analytischen Rahmens einer dynamischen Betrachtungsweise unterzogen. Damit wird zugleich die Ko-Kreation der Übertragungs-Gegenübertragungsprozesse herausgestellt und insbesondere auf die sinnlich-leibhaftige Qualität des Austausches zwischen Patient und Analytiker hingewiesen. Rahmen, Abstinenz und Neutralität erweisen sich somit nicht als ein einfach durch das analytische Setting Gegebenes, sondern als ein stets erst (wieder) Herzustellendes. Behält man diese Gegebenheiten im Blick, dann können – in methodischer Wendung – die unvermeidbaren Momente der Verwicklung im günstigen Fall zum Ausgangspunkt von Einsicht und Entwicklung im analytischen Paarprozeß werden.

Involvement and development: Sex and the analytic couple
Initially, the article discusses sexual factors operative in the analytic couple relationship (the relationship between patient/client and analyst) by regarding them in the context of a number of features of the analytic situation that are both interrelated and contradictory. Subsequently, the author subjects the apparently constant and immutable properties of the analytic framework to analysis from a dynamic perspective. This immediately foregrounds the co-creative nature of transference and countertransference processes, with an attendant focus on the sensual/physical quality of the exchange between patient and analyst. Thus framework, abstinence, and neutrality stand revealed not only as givens constituting the analytic setting but as factors that constantly have to be (re)established. Keeping these facts in mind and transposing them to the methodical plane, it transpires that, in positive cases, the involvement aspects unavoidable in the analytic situation can become a source of insight and development in the process in which the analytic couple is engaged.

Envelopper et développer – le couple analytique et le sexuel
Le sexuel dans la relation du couple analytique est d’abord discuté dans le contexte d’une série de caractéristiques de la situation analytique, allant ensemble ou contradictoires. Dans un deuxième temps, l’auteur considère, du point de vue dynamique, les qualités, apparemment si constantes du cadre analytique. Ce faisant, il met en relief la co-création des processus de transfert et de contre-transfert en soulignant notamment la qualité sensible-corporelle de l’échange entre le patient et l’analyste. Cadre, abstinence et neutralité se révèlent ainsi être quelque chose de non simplement donné par le setting analytique, mais qu’il faut toujours d’abord créer (de nouveau). En retenant ces données, les moments – tournés de manière méthodologique – inévitables d’enveloppement peuvent, dans le cas le plus favorable, devenir le point de départ de la compréhension et du développement du processus du couple analytique.

Regelverletzungen durch den Analytiker sind ›notwendig‹, sie gehören, so der Autor, konstitutiv zum psychoanalytischen Prozeß, weil der Analytiker regelhaft der Verführung zum partiellen Ausleben seiner Gegenübertragung durch den Patienten erliegt. Der Autor setzt sich mit einer Reihe von in der Literatur beschriebenen klinischen Beispielen auseinander, in denen der Umgang mit dem partiellen Ausleben der Gegenübertragung Thema ist, und argumentiert für seine Überzeugung, daß die Behandlung von Patienten mit sogenannten frühen Störungen nur Erfolg haben kann, wenn diese auch die Erfahrung machen können, den Analytiker als Person zu berühren. Dabei macht der Autor die überraschende Entdeckung, daß den Gegenübertragungsenactments und dem Sprechen aus der dritten Position derselbe Realitätscharakter zukommt, beide sind Ereignisse in der analytischen Situation und beide treten außerhalb der Übertragungs-/Gegenübertragungsbeziehung auf.

Necessary rule-violation. The analyst as mediator between the world of internal objects and the world of external objects
The author maintains that rule-violations by the analyst are a »necessary« and constitutive part of the psychoanalytic process because analysts regularly succumb to the temptation of partially enacting their countertransference via the patient. There follows a discussion of a number of clinical examples described in the literature and revolving around the topic of dealing with the partial enactment of countertransference. The author argues that the treatment of patients with so-called »early« disorders can only be successful if those patients are granted the experience of affecting the analyst as a person. Here the author makes the surprising discovery that countertransference enactments and speaking in the third person can be assigned the same degree of reality: both are events in the analytic situation, both occur outside the transference/countertransference relationship.

Transgressions nécessaires des règles – l’analyste comme médiateur entre le monde des objets intérieurs et le monde des objets extérieurs
Les transgressions des règles par l’analyste sont »nécessaires«, elles appartiennent de manière constitutive au processus psychanalytique parce que l’analyste succombe, en suivant les règles, à la séduction du patient, l’entrainant à laisser en partie libre cours à son contre-transfert. L’auteur discute un certains nombres de cas cliniques, décrits dans la littérature, où la gestion du contre-transfert auquel l’analyste a laissé en partie libre cours est thématisée, et il argumente en faveur de sa conviction que la thérapie des patients atteints de ce qu’on appelle des troubles précoces ne peut réussir que s’ils peuvent aussi faire l’expérience consistant à toucher l’analyste en tant que personne. A cette occasion, l’auteur fait la découverte surprenante que le même caractère de réalité revient aux enactements du contre-transfert et au fait de parler à la troisième personne, tous deux étant des événements qui se produisent dans la situation analytique, tous deux se produisant en dehors de la relation transfert/contre-transfert.

In dieser Arbeit wird die systematische klinische Reflexion von Psychoanalysen von Menschen mit schweren Persönlichkeitsstörungen vorgestellt. In einer Langzeituntersuchung am Wiener Psychoanalytischen Ambulatorium konnten mittels psychometrischer Methoden (SWAP-200) statistisch signifikante Therapieabbruch-Prädiktoren in psychoanalytischen Behandlungen identifiziert werden, nämlich Verleugnung und Verachtung der Bedürfnisse nach Nähe und Zuwendung, ein intrusiv erlebter Beziehungsstil in Verbindung mit Impulsivität und Nähe-Distanz-Konflikt-Schemata sowie die Zunahme von Projektion/projektiver Identifizierung, Somatisierung und Hypochondrie im zweiten Behandlungsjahr. Drei prototypische Falldarstellungen exemplifizieren das Arbeiten unter der Abbruchsdrohung und die dabei entstehenden Herausforderungen an den Analytiker.

Incomplete analyses. Clinical results of a long-term study at the »Wiener Psychoanalytisches Ambulatorium«
The article describes a systematic process of clinical reflection on the psychoanalytic treatment given to persons with severe personality disorders. The use of psychometric methods (SWAP-200) employed in the course of a long-term study undertaken at the Viennese Psychoanalytic Clinic indicated statistically significant therapy drop-out predictors in psychoanalytic treatments. These are (a) denial of, and contempt for, needs for closeness and affection; (b) a relationship style experienced as intrusive, combined with impulsiveness and closeness/distance conflict schemata; (c) an increase in projection/projective identification, somatization, and hypochondria in the second year of treatment. Three prototypic case descriptions exemplify the way in which the impending threat of drop-out affects therapy conditions and the challenges for the analyst resulting from such (altered) conditions.

Analyses incomplètes. Résultats cliniques d’une étude sur le long terme au »Wiener Psychoanalytisches Ambulatorium«
L’article présente une réflexion clinique systématique sur les psychanalyses des personnes atteintes de troubles graves de la personnalité. Dans une étude sur le long terme, menée au dispensaire psychanalytique de Vienne, on a pu identifier, grâce à des méthodes psychométriques (SWAP-200), les prédicteurs significatifs d’interruption dans les thérapies psychanalytiques; à savoir le déni et le mépris des besoins de proximité et d’affection, un style relationnel vécu comme intrusif, combiné à l’impulsivité et le schème du conflit proximité-distance, ainsi que l’augmentation de la projection/de l’identification projective, de la somation et de l’hypochondrie pendant la deuxième année de la thérapie. Trois présentations prototypiques de cas illustrent le travail sous menace d’interruption de la thérapie et les défis qui en résultent pour le psychanalyste.

Der Werdegang eines ehemals versteckten jüdischen Mädchens in Belgien wird zunächst nachgezeichnet. Als ältere Person hat sie im Sinne einer nachträglichen Bewegung die traumatischen Erlebnisse der Kindheit während einer paranoid-halluzinatorischen Episode wiedererlebt. Die Autorin macht die »Reminiszenz«, die diese Episode charakterisierte, evident.

Reminiscence in hallucination. The case of a Jewish woman hidden from the Nazis as a child
First the author traces the career of a Jewish woman hidden from the Nazis as a child in Belgium. In later life she re-experienced the traumatic events of her childhood in the form of a deferred response taking place in the course of a paranoid/hallucinatory episode. The author delineates the nature of the »reminiscence« characterized by this episode.

La réminiscence dans le délire – Le cas d’une ancienne enfant juive cachée
Cet article retrace le cheminement d’une ancienne enfant juive cachée en Belgique qui vivra, en après-coup, les traumatismes de son enfance à travers une bouffée délirante aiguë, et ceci à un âge avancé. L’auteure démontre la »réminiscence« qui caractérise cette épisode paranoïde-hallucinatoire.
